Back in the late '70s, as the Sex Pistols threatened anarchy in the UK, a budding young craftsman borrowed £600 from his sister in order to build a bed. While punk raged around him, the young man turned his mind from the vitriol to the traditional, carving both the bed and a reputation that would outlive the cultural climate it was born into by many years. “If anyone had told me that, 35 years on, I would be working alongside 170 others who share my passion and commitment,” Says Warren Evans, arguably London's most celebrated bedmaker, “I would never have believed it.”
